Silvana Costa

Originally from Brazil, Dr. Silvana Costa is the Social Performance Director at Teck Resources in Vancouver, where she leads the Indigenous Relations, Social Performance and Strategic Partnerships teams. Silvana has held senior positions in Social Responsibility with Equinox Gold, First Majestic Silver and New Gold. She has also worked as a consultant and for the BC Ministry of Energy and Mines. Silvana has experience working in Canada, the US, Australia, Brazil, and Mexico.

Silvana holds a Masters in Environmental Design and Community Planning from the University of Calgary and a PhD in Mining Engineering from the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining from UBC. She is also the recipient of the 2021 Robert R. Hedley Award for Environmental and Social Responsibility from the Association for Mineral Exploration in BC.
