Virtual Training Sessions
The Mining Association of Canada will be hosting a Tailings Management webinar on April 24, 2025 at 2PM EDT. This webinar will provide participants from a broad range of backgrounds with the opportunity to learn more about the Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) program and, specifically, the requirements related to tailings management.

Future Training Sessions
If you are interested in participating in a future TSM training session, please sign up here and we will contact you when the next session is scheduled. Assurance provider training opportunities are planned for June, September and December 2025. Training sessions may also be organized in response to subject matter areas commonly requested in the sign-up form. In the meantime, TSM online training modules are available at the link below.
Online Training
If you are a company seeking TSM training, your employees can access the online TSM training program here: Online Training Site.
Members of MAC and certain other national mining associations can access this platform free of charge by using their corporate e-mail address. If you require additional training beyond that provided in the online training platform, please reach out to MAC for more information. If you would like to participate in a TSM training program for any other purpose (e.g., consulting, general awareness), you are welcome to register for the online training program or the facilitated virtual training session, noted above.
Verifier Training
If you would like to become a TSM Verifier, MAC offers a facilitated virtual training session several times per year. Before registering, please ensure that you meet the requirements of the TSM Terms of Reference for Verifiers.

If you have an urgent contract for a TSM verification prior to the next scheduled session, you can complete the online training above and reach out to MAC to organize a follow-up conversation with the training facilitator. You must provide evidence of a contract to make use of this training option outside of the annual verifier training program.
