This report provides internally assessed TSM performance results for our British Columbia Business Unit (BCBU) and externally verified results for the Manitoba Business Unit (MBU) and the South American Business Unit (SABU).
Hudbay’s current performance and changes from its previous assessment are summarized as follows:
Two out of three operations have achieved level AA in tailings management. The other maintained their A level performance. In all cases, efforts to also include effectiveness in future tailings audits are planned.
Health and safety management continues to be a strength across the organization, with AA attained at the BCBU and AAA for both the MBU and the SABU.
Results for all remaining protocols were maintained at a minimum of level A.
Hudbay plans to maintain a strong focus on tailings and health and safety management, to continue to take action to support its climate change initiatives, and to continue to assess and address any gaps regarding the new equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace and the revised safe, healthy and respectful workplaces protocols.
