Ciara Talbot is a highly experienced exploration and geoscience leader with more than 30 years of international experience across the mineral exploration value chain. As Director of Exploration & Geoscience at Vale Base Metals, she leads exploration strategy across a diversified global portfolio, spanning early-stage strategy, greenfield discovery, advanced exploration, and near-mine resource extension. Ciara is known for her people-centered, values-driven leadership and strong commitment to developing talent, actively creating opportunities for individuals to connect with senior leaders and industry networks. Beyond her work at VBM, she contributes to the broader mining sector through industry governance and engagement, including her previous service as a board member of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), and her current roles on PDAC’s Geoscience and Innovation Committee and the Industry Advisory Committee for the Research Ireland Centre for Applied Geosciences (iCRAG). Her leadership, industry expertise, and commitment to developing the next generation of mining professionals make her an outstanding Woman in Mining.
