Glencore is one of Canada’s largest diversified miners and suppliers of critical minerals.  With around 11,000 employees and contractors working across eight mines and five metal processing facilities in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia, we are a pan-Canadian producer and recycler of critical minerals – including copper, nickel, zinc, cobalt and platinum group metals – as well as a major miner and exporter of steelmaking coal.

With more than 100 years of inherited history, Canada is a very important part of our business. We are the country’s largest producer of refined copper, second largest producer of mined and smelted nickel, and second largest producer of refined zinc, as well as one of the world’s largest recyclers of end-of-life electronics, playing a critical role in the circular economy. We operate Canada’s only copper smelter and refinery, located in Quebec. Glencore is also Canada’s largest producer of steelmaking coal, which is produced out of B.C.
