IAMGOLD is an intermediate gold producer and developer based in Canada with operating mines in North America and West Africa, including Côté Gold (Canada), Westwood (Canada) and Essakane (Burkina Faso). On March 31, 2024, the Company commenced production at Côté Gold, in partnership with Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd., a mine that has the potential to be among the largest gold mines in Canada. In addition, the Company has an established portfolio of early stage and advanced exploration projects within high potential mining districts. IAMGOLD employs approximately 3,700 people and is committed to maintaining its culture of accountable mining through high standards of Environmental, Social and Governance practices, including its commitment to strive for the goal of Zero Harm®. IAMGOLD is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: IAG) and the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: IMG).
As a member of the Mining Association of Canada (MAC), IAMGOLD participates in the TSM initiative at all of its operations, including Essakane, exceeding MAC’s membership requirements. In the 2024 externally verified assessment, IAMGOLD achieved a minimum of Level A across all TSM indicators, marking a notable milestone.
Crisis Management and Communications Planning
Westwood mine, Essakane mine and Corporate were assessed as a “yes” in 2024 for all three indicators: crisis management and communications preparedness (indicator 1), review (indicator 2) and training (indicator 3).
Preventing Child and Forced Labour
The Westwood and Essakane mines were assessed in 2024 to have processes in place to meet the requirements of this protocol.
Safety and Health
Westwood Mine was assessed to meet or exceed Level A across all five indicators of this protocol. Essakane mine was assessed in 2024 to meet or exceed Level AAA across four out of the five indicators.
Tailings Management
Westwood mine was assessed in 2024 to meet or exceed AA on four indicators and level AAA on one indicator. Essakane mine was assessed in 2024 to meet or exceed AA on three indicators and meet or exceed level AAA on two indicators.
Biodiversity Conservation Management
Westwood mine was assessed to meet or exceed A across the three indicators. Essakane mine was assessed in 2024 to meet or exceed AAA across two of the three indicators.
Water Stewardship
Westwood mine was assessed in 2024 to meet or exceed Level AAA across two of the indicators and meet or exceed A in the remainder of the indicators. Essakane mine was assessed in 2024 to meet or exceed Level AAA across three of four indicators of this protocol.
Indigenous and Community Relationship
Westwood mine received A-AAA in the five indicators in 2024. Essakane mine was assessed in 2024 and received A-AAA across four indicators; one indicator was assessed as not applicable.
Climate Change
Westwood mine was assessed in 2024 to meet or exceed level A on all three indicators. Essakane mine were assessed in 2024 to meet or exceed level AA on two out of the three indicators.
